I got my hair highlighted & it looks like a two year old did it What can i do?

The color is now platinum %26amp; the streaks are uneven. I don't know what I should do to fix it without destroying my hair.I got my hair highlighted %26amp; it looks like a two year old did it What can i do?
go to a different salon, one that someone you know and trust recommends....they should know how to fix it, and I suggest you speak to management at the place that did this to your hair in the first place!

If you had it done at home, there should be a phone number on the dye's box....most companies have a help line for just such a situation!

Good luck!I got my hair highlighted %26amp; it looks like a two year old did it What can i do?
complain to the better buisness burea the salon will get the complaint and prob refund your money.did you ask them to fix it?you could always dye it darker n cover up the whole mess.if you decide to lodge a complaint do a search for the bbb and itll pull up a place to pick your state and all that stuff.i think the web site is www.bbb.com but not certain.
ask for your money back and go somewhere else!
use a toner
Well...if you dye it further you will damage your hair but then everything that is done to our hair is damaging it in some way (just make sure you compensate for it). If you really think you can't live with it then you should go and talk to the person who did it. A stylist ruined my hair a year ago and made me go ginger....! I just went back the next day and explained the problems and the redid my hair free of charge.
You should dye your hair in one coulor!
well first of a you should go to a hair solon not being mean and ask them is they do highlights, if they do then ask them if they have a highlights color book then pick your colors.
Use the temporary 'good for 28 washes' kind of hair color, close to what your natural color is... that should cover it %26amp; slowly fade out, without damaging it like too much real coloring could, at this point.
Yes. Dye your hair one color and let it grow out some. You will probably still see the highlights but it should be suttle
wear a big hat
Go back to the place that did your hair tell them you think it is nasty and you would like a refund or another person to fix this problem. If they are a true business they should honor your request.
Go back and complain.Get your money back and then go to a different salon to have it fixed. Maybe you can have all your hair toned and then do some LOW LIGHTS,not high lights. From my experience hair dressers don't like it when you tell them they messed up,they get an attitude and try to blame the mistake on you. Yes, I have had this happen to me more then once. There is no way uneven, bad high lights are your fault. People like this should not be doing hair. I'm tired of stylist that destroy womens hair and take no responsibility for it. Good luck
WEll, you should've never paid for it, and also, you could demand that the beauty shop pay you back or give you a complimentary colring and highlighting job. By coloring it wouldn't that make it all disappear? Oh, and duh never got o that person again
Always, always, always let the stylist know. Your color might be the result of a miscommunication or a mistake. In either case, a stylist wants to know what they did wrong. How would any of us learn from our mistakes if we didn't know we made a mistake? Also, they should offer to redo it for free. Was this your first time at this salon/stylist? The more you have a history with a stylist, the more willing they'll be to redo your hair until you're happy.
you can probably use those temporary dyes, like herbal essence natural instincts, it doesn't damage the hair because it doesn't have ammonia, it's like a toner

if you got it done at a salon, go back and demand they fix it or get your money back

  • Ok so what kind of kits have the lowlight hair highlights?

I know african pride have the highlights but who got the lowlights?Ok so what kind of kits have the lowlight hair highlights?
low lights are when you add pieces darkers then your base so no kit will have thatOk so what kind of kits have the lowlight hair highlights?
if you are african american and are thinking about Dyeing your hair. I would highly suggest that you just save your money and have it professionally done. ESPECIALLY if your hair is already chemically treated. If you like the hair you have on your head now. Treat it right and let a professional color it.

Where do they sell hair highlighting kits?

i wanna get dark purple highlights,

but idk where to get a hair highlighting kit?!

    help!,

oh and BTW: is it hard?Where do they sell hair highlighting kits?
You can get them at Wal*Mart, and it isn't hard if you get somebody you can trust to do it. My dad did mine once--it turned out really nice.Where do they sell hair highlighting kits?
You can pick one up at most pharmacies and such. I don't know about the purple though, especially if you want them of the more permanent variety.

It's not too hard, do you have light hair already? You could just buy dark purple hair dye, pull out sections, apply the dye and wrap them up in foil. I would suggest you get a friend to help.

If you have dark hair, you'll have to do that, but bleach or lighten the strands first.

I would recommend seeing a pro, but if you're low on cash, see if it works, and if not then you can dye your hair back.
If you know what you are doing, and have done it before, you can check at Walmart. If you haven't, go to the salon.
    go to a Hot Topic...

i know they have highlights random colors there...

the directions should be on the bottle/box

but you could ask someone who works there,, they might know.
highliting kits are not good. Just get a bleach kit and bleach the parts that you want to highlight, then apply the purple color to the bleached parts and it will turn purple. you can find them at drugstores or supermarkets.
in most drug stores and chemists nd a dont no wever its hard as iv never did it before if i was you i would go to a pro
hmm you can try most drug stores..

cvs, walgreens, walmart or i know hot topic has some too
I usually buy my hair kits from the Chemist/Drug Store/Pharmacy especially if you want a colour that is not usually a natural hair colour. Although you can buy them at your local supermarket. There are also those shops that sell hair dressing products which you might be able to buy something like that at, but usually they sell Shampoo/Conditioner and treatments.
go to a salon and let a professional do it. purple is a lowlight not a highlight.

if you don't know what you are talking about and you don't know if its hard or not then you should let stylist do it.

and btw; a person above me said buy what you want and let the salon put it on. Thats an insult because we do not use unprofessional products.

Is there a regis salon around you? i know they have purple color.
I HIGHLY recommend that you go to salon to get it done, trust me. My friend got a kit and it totally mess up her hair, she had to cut it and everything. So instead of spending money on something that doesn't work, spend it on the salon or something else.

    Hope I Helped! =]
    nope not hard.

they usually see them at... hmmmm.... ah walmart or shoppers drug mart...

if they arent there try getting it done at a salon professionally
    Remember highlights are permanent. You are also labeling yourself, to some people, as a nonconformist, a rebel. [hee hee!] A beautician is the best choice, and even though it may be pricy, it's better than looking like a clown and having to ';live with it.';
pharmacys, tescos, asda.practically any supermarket. nope its not hard
my guess would be at the store.
OK SO I DID IT AND I RUINED MY HAIR BUY THE THING U WANT BUT GIVE IT TO A HAIRDRESSER AND LET HER DO IT
    everywhere..

    Sally beauty supples

    wal-mart

    cvs

    rite aid

    general dollar

    family dollar

    big lots

    many many more
They sell them at drug store's, Target, all those places.

Although i really wouldn't recommend doing highlights by yourself.

I would go to a hair salon and get light blonde highlights and then go over them with purple by yourself, if you want to.

But if you plan on doing all of this yourself, i'd bleach highlights with the kit [if your hair isn't light blonde] then go over the highlights with the purple you want.
yeah its kind of hard.. def get a friend to help id say .. but anywhere!! .. zellers, walmart.. any retail store really.. just go to the hair section
just pay the extra money and go get it done. those things never work out and its messy and you can't do it yourself. just go to a salon.
Do yourself a favor - don't do it yourself.

    Hair highlight colours?

i have really dark hair and i want to know what colours wil be good in my hair im a boyHair highlight colours?
hmm hard to say without knowing your complexion, etc. but generally dark hair always looks good with caramel highlights- not too light not too dark. i would advise not to go very light (platinum)- because it could look skunky with that big of a contrast. but if that's the look you're going for, then talk to your stylist and she can discuss with you what would look best. if your hair is almost black you could do red highlights, that looks really cool if you're going for a funky look. i would look at some pictures either online or in a hair magazine. find someone who has similar hair color and complexion as you, and see what you like, and give it a try. if you hate it, you can always color over it and go back to your natural color.Hair highlight colours?
If you really want to do this and have ';really dark hair';, please don't add really blonde highlights. Try with some deeper colors that work with your skin tones and natural color. Go with chunky highlights to start.

    Please show us a picture.
I think red always goes nice with dark colours :)

Obv not bright red but reddy colours like autumn colours
umm boys dont get highlights that much but colors like brown (not too dark but not blonde colors like in the middle

    Blonde?

    Or Auburn!
    blonde but not yellow

brown will look the best but no right different

    deff not green

    Hair-highlight-problem?

i have a blackish-brownish hair (mostly black), but it turns dark dark, dark, brown in the sun, and i trying to decide wat color i should highlight it. plzzzz help me out i cant decide on a color cuz i dont know wat color would look good on me. i have a light/meduim skin color so i dont want a color that dosnt make my face pop to muchHair-highlight-problem?
i would go with 2-4 shades lighter then the color it turns in the sun. ask a color specialist @ a reputable salon but thats my opinionHair-highlight-problem?
I would only go a couple of shades light er than your natural, or the color it tirns in the sun. This will help to keep you from having ';roots'; in 2 weeks. Also, it will look much more natural and should soften the contrast between your skin and hair.

What's the best at home hair highlighting kit I can buy?

I have long dark brown hair, and am thinking of maybe getting some lighter brown and chestnut highlights. My hair is cut 'scene' sorta, with lots of layers and a sweeping fringe.

also, what other equipment will i need to highlight my hair, or will it all be in the packet? What's the best at home hair highlighting kit I can buy?

(But you can make temporary ones with mascara)Do you know where I can find cheap real clip on hair highlights/extensions?
I don't think you can get $50 worth of real hair clip in extensions. You can get them at sally beauty supply for a little less than $100 but I don't think you can get good quality extensions with little money as $50
You can't find REAL hair extensions cheap actually I'm surprised you say you found them for $50 the ones you found probably weren't real hair!!!
