I was wondering how much you pay to get your hair highlighted?

I pay $80 %26amp; I feel that it is too much.

How much do you pay?

I'm thinking about going somewhere cheaper. My cousin has a friend that does hair at her house %26amp; she seems to be good %26amp; only charges $25.

My mom don't think I will be satisfied %26amp; she don't think I should go but I'm tired of paying $80!! Also last time she did my hair she didn't start all the way at the roots, so it looked like I had a line going down the middle of my head.

What do you think I should do?I was wondering how much you pay to get your hair highlighted?
$80 is a lot. Talk to your friends, find out local places that are a little more afordable. Word of mouth is a powerful tool. If you see someone who is just an aquaintance or even a stranger who has nice highlights dont be afraid to ask. They will enjoy the compliment and the hairdresser will love the business =)I was wondering how much you pay to get your hair highlighted?
100$
$11.00 Doing it myself
my best friend is a cosmotologist....i just give her a phat tip after she does my hair....but when she highlights with foils, she usually charges $70....but it also depends on how thick or how long your hair is.
$10 - did it myself

if you feel you pay too much... shop around in your area, call/go to different salons and ask how much they charge before getting your hair done. I always ask before I have them touch my hair now. I learned my lesson after paying $40 for a 1 inch trim on straight hair.
25.00 for a cut and highlights
$80 is too much? Where do you live? You can't find a place where I live for less than $150. When I go, after highlights, cut, blowdry and tip, I end up walking out of there with $230 less money in my pocket!
$120 for a cut and highlight and color every 3or4 months + 20 tip
You get what you pay for a lot of times. $80.00 is a cheap price for a salon. I pay $160.00 for a highlight, cut and style. My hairdresser is worth twice that.
It probably varies depending on where you are. I pay $120 for highlights and a cut (not including the tip).

If you weren't happy w/ your results last time, try someone new. Give your cousins stylist a go, expensive doesn't always mean better. If that doesn't work out, keep trying until you find someone you love and trust.

When my stylist went to real estate full time and moved I was devestated. I found that when I saw someone's hair I loved, I just asked them who did it and found a great new stylist. Good luck!
$65......go to another place and pay less......or just keep paying $80...don't do it yourself....
I've never spent less than $80

My mom did and her hair turned orange
Here you pay L28 for highlights.
i own a salon and my foils start at 50.00 but it all varies on length thickness and how much u want, i charge 5dollars a foil up to 10foils then up from there! but on average i never charge less then 80! plus when u find someone that knows what u like and keeps u satisfied u cant put a price tag on that! cause chances are ur never gonna like what anyone else does!
I use to spend that much. I buy mine over the counter now. $6 bucks. It comes with the little highlight comb. I have short hair so its really easy. Half and hour later and Waaaalaaa. First time I did it...hubby came home and said...I didn't know you went to get your hair done today.

He couldn't tell the difference from me doing it or the salon.
For a cut %26amp; highlight - $120
$40 - $50
I have dark blonde hair to my mid-back (very long since I'm 5'11';) and my hi-lights and lo-lights and a cut cost me about $200 + tip every 8 to 10 weeks. Absolutely worth it--my hairdresser is a genius colorist. He is also a mobile stylist--he comes to my house--which is really covenient since I work at home. He's so good, I could really go much longer between highlights because they look very very natural and I don't get obvious roots. Mine is more expensive because he does my whole head--(about 50 foils)--not just the crown, because I have a lot of premature grey (since my 20's) and I wear my hair up about half the time. He wants it to look just as interesting and natural when it's swept up as well as when it's down. My hair is also really really healthy because of the better quality products he uses and all the extra lavishing of attention.

My partner loves my hair! I wouldn't pay less or go to an inferior salon for anything.
I have long (mid-back) thick hair. Not sure if that matters or not with cost, but thought I would tell you.

I pay $55 for a partial foil and $70 for a full foil. Plus tip.

Shampoo, cut, blow dry %26amp; styling is included in that price.

Under no circumstances should you ever do highlights yourself. You can always tell a woman who colors or highlights their own hair (or perms their own hair for that matter) -- Yikes!
i paid 65 hair cut and highlights
well.. there are different ways to go about this. it depends on a few things

1) if you know anyone that works at a salon and could get you a discount

2) if you want to get it done at home (a lot cheaper.. but risky)

3) if you go to a salon.. then it is USUALLY about $55-$85 depending where you go and what you want done
Try a career center or beauty school. Your highlights will be done by students studying to become stylists, and they are

well supervised, and frequently charge less than half of what you would pay by going to a salon.
$75, you get what you pay for.
