I would like to know the difference between the two and how I shoudl chooseI am looking at getting my hair highlighted and wanted to know the difference between a partial and full foil?
Different stylists have different meanings for the terms, pretty much depending upon where they went to school,
A partial foil could mean:
Highlighted from the roots down (wich would cover your roots but leave the ends of the strands being bleached natural)
or
Highlighted from the tips (which would highlight the bottom half of the strand and leave the roots still showing
A full foil could mean:
Highlights to the top half of your hair, sectioned from your hairline straight around your head
or
Highlights through the whole length and thickness of your hair
Generally when people get highlights in thier hair, what i see as being most popular is the full strand highlights on just the top half section of hair.
If you were to highlight through the entire thickness of your hair, it's more likely that you're just going to end up having a dirty blonde hair color, because having highlights in your hair requires using styling products to keep them visible, or else they'll just fade in with the rest of the hair.
Ask your stylist what they mean, or else know what you want your hair to look like (disconcerning any terms of words) and tell them and show them specifically what you want.
They're stylists, they went to school, and they should know how to please a customer and do whatever it is they're asked. Just be clear and specific!
Good Luck!I am looking at getting my hair highlighted and wanted to know the difference between a partial and full foil?
