not necessarily. first of all, you are much more likely to mess up and have crappy highlights if you do it yourself. on top of that, you can always ask your hair stylist to use the least damaging products, which she most likey will anyways.Do the at home hair highlighting kits damage your hair less than going to a salon?
I've tried highlighting my hair at home and i think it stays longer than the salon but the salon is more professional. I would recommend you going to the salon just in case =)))
