After you have had extensions put in your hair, is it still ok to get your hair highlighted?

I have had extensions in my hair for some time now and recently, my color is starting to fade really bad because the stylist who put in my extensions said that you shouldn't get your hair highlighted until they all come out and/or are taken out. But my color is fading really bad, and that didn't really make any sense to me, seeming she would know that color fades so quickly especially for blondes. Is this true? if your extensions are real hair, the you can cut, color, highlight, blowdry or flat iron them. i use extensions on a regular basis, and i highlight my hair and extensions as if they were part of my hair. when the extensions come out, you will have to recolor your hair because if you highlight it with the extensions in, its meant for the extensions to blend in too. you have to remember that when the extensions come out the color will look weird because you have hair missin. but yes, if your going to keep the extensions then definately coloor them. i hope that this helps, feel free to email me with any other questions yyou may have.After you have had extensions put in your hair, is it still ok to get your hair highlighted?
If your extentions are 100% Human Hair then Yes, absolutely you can color, highlight, cut, curl, straighten, etc... You would treat them as your own hair. if they are synthetic than No, it would not be a good idea, I don't believe it would even hold color or bleach if they we're synthetic, and it would melt with a curling iron.

Well, first of all you need to find out if the hair extensions are human hair or syntheic, if human it may be possible to redye your hair or touch up the roots, and yes i tooo dye my hair so i understand the problemwhat i would do is consullt another hair stylist or someone who specializes in extensions,, maybehe/she will help you get this right! good luck
i got my extensions taking out last night then i highlighted my hair and it turned yellow but i dont think it was from the extensions =)
I've been told yes.
go back to that stylist. she did it she can fix/ maintain it.
